Ijaz Ahmed, PhD

Dr. Ijaz Ahmed is currently a Principal Scientist in Process Chemistry at Pfizer. He has worked previously at GlaxoSmithKline, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and other smaller biotech comapnies. He was awarded his PhD in 2015 in the area of Organic Chemistry at Syracuse University, which was followed by a Post-Doc appointment at WPI in Massachusetts. His interest is in synthetic organic chemistry and the process development of active pharmaceutical ingredients. He received the MKA Talent Award in 2014 for his publication on the rapid synthesis of BINOL derivatives.

On a Jama’at level, Dr. Ahmed is blessed to serve as the Publications Secretary for the Association of Ahmadi Muslim Scientists -USA (AAMS-USA). He is also serving as the National Murabbi Atfal for Majlis Atfalul Ahmadiyya, USA.
